Richland County's Neighborhood Improvement Program and the Community Development Department are holding a free event to give residents information to improve their homes, their communities and their lives.
The first Upgrade Together conference will focus on homeowner assistance, financial empowerment and neighborhood revitalization. Topics include:
- Housing needs in Richland County
- Options to lower mortgage payments
- Tips to reduce household energy usage
- Planning, Zoning and County regulations
Attendees also will get information on the County's updated Comprehensive Plan and participate in a town hall forum with County Council Chairman Torrey Rush.
The free Upgrade Together event takes place 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, June 13 at Richland Northeast High School, 7500 Brookfield Road, Columbia.
This free event includes breakfast and lunch and an opportunity to win door prizes, such as an iPad Mini and local store gift cards.
