Regular Session Meeting

Call to Order – Kit Smith

Invocation/Pledge of Allegiance – Jim Tuten

Adoption of Agenda – Adopted as amended. Item 3b, Blue Cross and Blue Shield Infrastructure Credit Agreement, was added.

Presentation of Resolutions –

    1. Toussaint Kennedy – Council recognized Mr. Kennedy as the Track & Field Association Coach of the Year
    2. James Raymond – Council recognized Mr. Raymond as Soccer Coach of the Year

Presentation – The Appearance Commission gave a presentation and H. Kenneth Corley, Chair, and Milton Pope, Assistant County Administrator, presented awards to winners.

Citizen’s Input – No one spoke

Report of County Attorney for Executive Session Matters – The County Attorney recommended Items 3a and 3b for executive session if Council had any questions.

Approval of Minutes –

November 6, 2001: Regular Session -- Approved as amended. Council reconsidered third reading for Ordinance Amendment: Landfills & Composting Facilities. The Ordinance will receive third reading and a public hearing at the first Council meeting in January.

November 14, 2001: Special Called Meeting – Approved as submitted.

 Report of County Administrator –

    1. Mr. McSwain put council on notice that the second meeting in December and the first meeting in January may need to be rescheduled, and that a date must be set for the Council Retreat.
    2. Mr. McSwain wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.

Open/Close Public Hearings –Public hearing for item 3a was removed.

Point of Personal Privilege – Council member Brill welcomed her daughter.

Approval Of Consent Items – Items 1b, 1c, 1d, 1f, 1g, 2a, 2b were approved. Item 1a was deferred.

5. Motion Period/Announcements –

    1. Council members McEachern, Tuten and Brill recognized Rice Creek Elementary as a Blue Ribbon School and Ridge View High School for Principal of the Year.
    2. Council members Brill, Tuten and Brady recognized Dr. Stephen Hefner as Superintendent of the Year.
    3. Council member Scott recognized Webber School for raising their GPA.
