The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has awarded State Energy Program ARRA funding to the South Carolina Energy Office (SCEO) and approved the allocation of funding for the Clean Green Investment Incentives Program supporting energy efficiency and renewable energy in the industrial sector. Pure Power Technologies will contract to have installed at 1410 Northpoint Blvd., Blythewood, SC, 490 new high bay fluorescent lighting fixtures within the production floor area, 1214 high efficiency 25 watt lamps, lighting controls to include daylight photocells to reduce lighting in areas when possible, motion controls and infrared sensors in rooms to control lighting when people are present and turn off when human presence in not available. This will allow a reduction of energy consumption on Lighting on average 35 - 40% from current use for an annual cost savings of greater than $26,000.00. Pure Power Technologies will also install new high efficiency HVAC package units at 121 Research Drive , Columbia , SC. This consists of installation of 14 new units ranging in SEER rating from 15.2 to 16.0, and one unit of 11.1 SEER. Pure Power Technologies cannot measure HVAC energy consumption at the Technical center due to all incoming electricity being fed from one meter base.
