Mission
The mission of the Solid Waste & Recycling Division is to efficiently manage the solid waste stream and provide high quality residential solid waste management services for the citizens of Richland County in order to enhance public safety, public health and quality of life in the County.
Tasks
- Provide a Residential / Small Business Curbside Collection Program for Solid Waste, Yardwaste, Recyclables, and Bulk Items;
- Operate a Construction & Demolition (C&D) Debris Landfill;
- Provide for the disposal of Residential Solid Waste, C&D Debris, Yardwaste, and Bulk Items generated within Richland County;
- Operate Solid Waste Drop Off Centers and Recycling Sites for Richland County residents;
- Enforce anti-littering and illegal dumping laws and ordinances;
- Promote cost effective recycling programs.
