What: “Being Prepared with Probate Court," a free event to learn about the various functions of Richland County Probate Court
When: 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25
Where: County Council Chambers inside the County Administration Building, 2020 Hampton St., Columbia
Probate Court serves the community by administering estates and executing wills, issuing marriage licenses, appointing guardianships and conservatorships, ordering involuntary commitments of mentally ill or chemically dependent persons, and hears and decides trust and estate litigation.
Richland County Probate Judge Amy McCulloch will be on hand to talk about the ins and outs of Probate Court and answer questions from attendees.
