Four schools have received $250.00 Conservation Education Mini-Grants from the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District to support on-campus environmental initiatives.
A Cover Crop Field Day will be hosted by the Dillon SWCD on Tuesday, March 18, from 10am until noon. Chanda Cooper, the education program coordinator for the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District and the County’s Conservation Department, was named the 2013 Outstanding Conservation District Employee by the SC Association of Conservation Districts.
Richland County nominee Melinda Beach has been named South Carolina’s 2013 Primary (K-6th Grade) Teacher of the Year by the South Carolina Association of Conservation Districts (SCACD). She will be recognized at the Association's Awards Luncheon later this month.
